Bye bye balls

Philip got neutered on Friday and is now recovering, which is going very well. He was a cryptorchid, i.e. both of his testicles didn't drop, so the vet had to find them wherever they were. Now he has a shaved belly and an incision on his abdomen, with 5 stitches. It looks so painful, but he's been taking it like a champ. He was back to his normal self by the following morning, and after a few tries (which were stopped by me), he seems to understand that he shouldn't lick the area, so he has been very good about that. He doesn't even have a cone to wear - yay! We go back in two weeks to have the stitches removed.

And now for a happier note. Being the silly Corgi that he is, Philip loves to roll around on his back making funny noises and sometimes licking the floor. It's kind of hard to explain on words, so I present you a video instead from when he did it as a puppy (I need to make a new one now that he's a bit older and does it even more hehe):

OMG, that is too cute! How do I teach Theo to do that? Hehe. Do you mind if I post this video on my blog? I would love to share it. :)

Hehe, I wish we could teach them to do these silly things :) I have never seen a dog do that before him, and it's just so natural for him, even now that he's older he'll still roll around, and he has such a joyful look when he does it too :)

You are most welcome to post it on your blog, Philip would be honored I'm sure!

Hey! Followed Julo over to your blog :D Philip looks to be such a blast!! He's such a handsome boy too :) Bryson likes to play with fallen palm fronds too, but I think one time he cut his mouth/tongue and now he's not so fond of the frond anymore... :P

Hi Ivy, welcome! Awww, poor Bryson to cut his tongue on it, that's too bad. There are plenty of other "natural" toys out there though, if he ever needs an idea, just tell him to ask Philip, he constantly brings in leaves, sticks, flowers, you name it! Sometimes I really wonder why I bother spending money on toys, when he would much rather play with something he found on the street :)
